Black Lives Matter
Girl Up Michigan stands in solidarity with the Black community against the brutal acts of violence committed against countless individuals throughout our country. The recent losses of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Sha’Teina Grady El leave us devastated but remind us that we must do better. We must reflect upon these incidents, educate ourselves, initiate conversations, and take action. We must commit every day to serving as allies for the Black Community and to dismantling the systemic racism that has been built into our society’s roots nad played a large role in our country’s history. Change has long been overdue and we want to use our platform to share resources for what each individual can do to fight racial injustice.
